Coastal Suburban House
Black Rock - Bayside

Perched on a dark charcoal blue plinth, the first floor and roofline peel away from the building with a sense of flight; reaching for the sky. As such the external colours of the building have also reflected this; a series of blue / charcoals, mineral blue through to the white of the clouds. The plinth also creates a private backyard which embraces the flow from indoors to outdoors through glass. The panoramic flow of the internal feature colours also read in conjunction with the exterior, all embracing and hugging the ovoid pool. Located in the beach suburb of Black Rock the feature aqua blue colours are used to enhance a sense of relaxation, tranquillity, serenity set against the natural tones of wooden oak floorboards, natural white walls and black detailing.

“A harmonious combination of colour and texture has been used to create a sense of relaxation and tranquillity. A series of charcoals and mineral blues creates a palette to reflect the sky. The gloss base of the house provides the perfect contrast from the textured main structure, which is perched on top.”
